About Me (Photo thanks to Candy @ Sugashoc Photography)
It is highly unlikely you will ever meet another person quite like me. I like to think of myself as fun, quirky, and easy to relax around. I have a passion for Japanese culture, hence the unique name of my company, and a heart that oozes all things Disney. In fact, I love Disney so much I completed two internships there while completing my Associates degree in Communications and then my Bachelors degree in Integrative Arts (with a focus on Theatre) from Penn State University.
While it would seem Communications and Integrative Arts are a long ways off from starting a career in photography, the three actually come together quite well. All three deal with capturing a message, a moment, or an idea and presenting it in a way that captivates the audience. I have shown great success at each of these and even manage to add a bit of creativity and flare to each session that stems from my theatre background.
While in college I took a photography class as an easy elective. I never thought this class would ignite a passion and shift my plans for the future. My dad saw potential in the photos I took for class and gave me my first DSLR for Christmas the year I graduated. With the encouragement of my dad and the support of my husband, I launched my photography business in 2011. My goal is to pay forward the same support and encouragement I receive to the people I photograph.
What does Sorahana mean?
Sorahana is the combination of two Japanese words. “Sora” means flower and “hana” means sky. Together, they represent my desire to create an environment that is carefree, intimate, and fun. I wants each of my clients to walk away feeling self-confident, uplifted, and inspired. Having your picture taken should be fun, not treacherous.
Where are you located?
I am currently located in Bucks County, PA and service Bucks County, and the surrounding area.
